the basic education family!

Greetings!

I hope everyone is well and making their way through these unprecedented times. Good news! - We are ready to continue learning as Basic Education will use the Blended Learning Approach for School Year 2022-2023. A combination of Online educational materials and opportunities for interaction online with in-person or traditional place-based classroom methods.

Understand that moving forward, we will learn the meaning of flexibility and patience! I do not doubt that the students, families, teachers, and staff of SJIT Basic Education will continue to thrive in this flexible learning landscape. You are all exceptional individuals - This is an opportunity to use the learnings gained from the past two years of being confronted with online learning. You will now flourish those artistic skills of critical thinking, problem-solving, persistence, creativity, and discipline to make the most of this time.

  • Critical thinking - It is not a stretch to say that many of your brains are constantly in high gear - use it to reflect and find alternative ways around hurdles.
  • Problem-solving - This is time to use those reasoning skills. Times of great turmoil brings out the best in problem-solving - How will all of this change what we know go forward?
  • Persistence - You have all been through uncertain times - stay the course - keep moving forward, and do not give up.
  • Discipline - Use the schedule created to get a routine. Now is also a time to work on the technical aspects of your craft - practice…
  • Creativity - The most outstanding works of art are created in times like these. Create!!

Many of you anticipate our in-person performance tasks, recognition, prom, and other aspects of your student life. Please know this - we are holding out hope, and I am enlisting your creative spirit to think through alternate possibilities. Josephians, We will find a way to make your learning experience as unique as it needs to be. Keep an open mind, stay positive, and work together moving forward.
