The SJIT Graduate School has been in operation for more than 2 decades from
its foundation in 1989. It offers three programs with Government Recognition: 1989
Masters in Management for Master of Arts in Education (MAED) and Master in
Management (MM) Major in Business Management (MBM) and Public Service
Management (MPSM). In 1997, its Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) was recognized
and in 2002, Doctor of Philosophy in Management was recognized. In 2010 – 2011, the
SJIT Graduate School was granted authority by the CHED to operate its Non – Thesis
Program for Teachers.
The mandate of the SJIT Graduate School is to promote, advance, and foster excellence in graduate education. In the journey of a Master’s degree, students will undertake a comprehensive examination, research, and make a thesis to defend. Meanwhile, a graduate student taking a Non – Thesis program is required to write and defend action research, project proposal, or a feasibility study. Doctoral (Ph.D.) candidates also must pass a comprehensive examination, undertake research, and must submit a dissertation that represents a significant contribution to their field of study.
