The SJIT Master of Arts in Education (MAED) program uses a set of curriculum approved by the CHED. It is designed for professionals and educators.

MAED programs of SJIT offers both Thesis and Non-Thesis. Graduate Students are typically required to complete a thesis comprising of original research in one's field of specialization and is defended in an oral proposal and final defense. The Non-Thesis program only requires a graduate student to write an action research, feasibility study or project proposal which is presented once in an oral defense to a panel.

Completion requirements include passing all the required courses / subjects and passing the comprehensive examination. At this point, a student can be issued a certification as having completed the academic requirements (CAR).

Master of Arts in Education (MAED) of both Thesis and Non-Thesis program complete their academic requirements by passing a total of 39 units. It comprises 12 units of core subjects, 15 units major, 6 units cognates and 6 units Thesis writing.

For those who will pursue the Thesis program. Those who pursue the Non-Thesis program enroll in 6units Integrated Course (IC) instead of Thesis Writing.

While those who take the Thesis Program present their research twice in an Oral Proposal and Final Oral defense, the Non-Thesis graduate students present either an action research, project proposal or feasibility study only once in an oral defense.

Graduates of Master of Arts in Education is a requirement not only for administrative and supervisory positions in the public and private Basic Education but in the Higher Education Institutions (HEI) as well. They can also be researchers, resource persons in trainings and advisers for those beginning their post graduate studies. They can be professors in the tertiary level.

School Principals and Master Teachers positions in the public school require graduates of Masters of Arts in Education.

The reason why a graduate student enrolls in the MAED program is basically for personal and professional growth to improve one's quality of instruction. The career path of a teacher requires at least a master's degree in education to be promoted in rank / position or in salary adjustment.

A master's degree enhance one's self confidence and pride with a feeling of success.

Admission to a Master's degree program requires a bachelor's degree. High grades in one's field of study is important. Admission requirement includes taking an OLSAT Level G examination and interview with the Dean.

Direct partners of the MAED degree program are the public and private schools as well as higher education institutions

The local government units are partners by providing scholarships to graduate students.
